We delivered a complete network transformation, deploying a unified network across eight core sites. When Covid-19 unexpectedly accelerated hybrid working requirements, our robust network foundation enabled The Royal Parks employees to transition smoothly without their working days coming to a complete standstill.
We connected offices, educational facilities, and site infrastructure across The Royal Parks estate with a unified network foundation.
When Covid-19 accelerated hybrid working requirements, our solid network foundation enabled a smooth transition.
We prioritised network security from the beginning, ensuring safe and secure connectivity for all employees and operations.
Challenge
Following the 2017 merger of a former DCMS agency and The Royal Parks Foundation charity, the organisation needed to completely transform how it operated. With eight core sites and several additional offices and buildings spread throughout the historic parklands, they wanted one main route of connectivity to unify them all.
The challenge was connecting people working on-site in carefully camouflaged buildings, educational facilities, and site infrastructure to one network foundation whilst ensuring security was prioritised from the outset.
Plan
We worked closely with The Royal Parks team to develop a comprehensive network transformation strategy that would provide them with a solid IT foundation for the future.
Approach
Our approach focused on understanding how the charity operated, creating a single source of truth for connectivity with a unified network across all sites, and prioritising security measures from the beginning to ensure safe and secure operations across the estate.
Outcome
The Royal Parks team now benefits from a transformed network infrastructure that provides a solid foundation for future expansion. The security-first approach we implemented from the beginning allowed us to release the new network without a hitch, delivering positive outcomes to park employees and their IT team.
But just as the tech transformation was building momentum, Covid-19 hit and brought with it the urgent need for hybrid working. Fortunately, with the knowledge and collaborative relationships built during the initial project, our team was able to act quickly and switch The Royal Parks employees over to hybrid working without causing any disruptions.
