Hireforce is a growing tool and equipment hire business. It provides small tools, such as drills and saws, as well as welfare units, excavators, access platforms, and other heavy plant equipment to the UK construction sector. In addition to an expanding chain of local depots, the business offers a national one-call service, Hireforce One, providing equipment to customer sites across the UK.

Challenge

Hireforce needed the ability to support a number of teams in different locations. They required stable IT with remote support. Hireforce had been working with an IT service provider for several years, using a smaller cloud data centre for hosting. Whilst day-to-day support was good, the hosting environment had proved unstable, leading to frequent outages and disruptions.

Plan

The boxxe Group proposed a comprehensive IT transformation plan to address Hireforce's challenges. This included migrating their entire IT infrastructure to Microsoft Azure to leverage its stability and scalability. Additionally, the plan involved implementing Azure Virtual Desktop to enhance end-user computing and provide seamless remote access. Microsoft Endpoint Manager was deployed for centralised device management, ensuring all devices are secure and up-to-date.

Approach

The team began with a detailed assessment of Hireforce's current IT environment to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Following this, a tailored IT solution architecture leveraging Microsoft Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop was developed. The migration to Microsoft Azure was executed with minimal downtime, ensuring a smooth transition. This included setting up Azure Virtual Desktops and configuring Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Comprehensive training was provided for Hireforce's IT staff, along with ongoing support to ensure effective management of the new environment.

Outcome

The IT transformation led by the boxxe Group delivered several key benefits. Hireforce now operates with a highly stable infrastructure, supported by Microsoft Azure's 99.95% uptime guarantee. Azure Virtual Desktop improved the end-user experience, providing faster access to applications and data. Microsoft Endpoint Manager streamlined device management, enhancing security and efficiency. With data backed up and easily recoverable, Hireforce is well-prepared for any potential disruptions. Freed from IT issues, Hireforce can concentrate on expanding their business and serving their customers better.

Darktrace	Darktrace’s Security Platform enhances boxxe’s cybersecurity position by providing endpoint protection, cloud security, and email security. Darktrace uses AI-driven tools to detect and respond to potential threats, such as malware, phishing attacks, and insider threats, by continuously monitoring network traffic, user behaviour, and cloud-based resources. It aims to prevent data breaches and minimize cyber risks by identifying and mitigating security threats in real-time. Greenhouse	Greenhouse ATS is a cloud-based software that helps companies manage their recruitment processes. It organizes and tracks job applications, resumes, and candidate information. Greenhouse ATS collects applications and stores data about the applicants, such as which source they came from, which role they applied to and where they are in the application process. Greenhouse ATS features applicant tracking, background screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding.
