Business Driver

Spandex realised it could make cost savings by moving hardware support to a third party, without compromising the service.

Break-fix maintenance

Challenge

Spandex needed to cut costs on its hardware support without compromising service quality. Managing IT maintenance in multiple countries with consistent service levels was a key challenge.

Plan

The boxxe Group planned to provide comprehensive break-fix maintenance for Dell servers and storage across 15 European countries, ensuring Next Business Day (NBD) service and centralised management.

Approach

The project involved the deployment of a coordinated maintenance strategy, supporting Dell servers and storage systems critical to Spandex’s operations. The service covered 15 countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK. A single contract and point of contact streamlined communication and management.

Outcome

Spandex benefited from a substantial reduction in maintenance costs without sacrificing service quality. The centralised support structure made it easier for IT Infrastructure Manager Balazs Farkas to manage IT across multiple sites, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring prompt issue resolution.

We chose the boxxe Group based on price, capability, and a great working relationship with our account manager.

We have a good relationship and good communication with the team – when we ask for something, it gets done immediately.

We have built-in redundancy for most of our kit, so don’t always need next-day on-site service. When I need a replacement, boxxe ships it the same day or next day, to meet my requirements. With the boxxe Group we’re getting the same service level as before, but at a much lower cost.
