Environmental and Sustainability Policy

As an organisation, we are defined by making technology human and aim to integrate sustainability into everything we do to create a stronger, more successful business which enables us to give back to the wider community of which we are a part.  Our sustainable approach also enables us to play an important part in protecting the environment for future generations by working with our partners, suppliers, and vendors to deliver and support a sustainable supply chain and support our clients by delivering sustainable products/solutions to sort their sustainability journey.  To help address the adverse environmental impact of our operations, we employ an Environmental Management System (EMS) to the ISO 14001:2015 international management standards.  We use our EMS to help identify significant impact areas and set environmental targets and objectives annually which helps us to continually improve our environmental performance and reduce our environmental impact.

boxxe is committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimises our potential impact on the environment.  We operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

boxxe is committed to continually improve our environmental performance through the implementation of the following:

• Set and review environmental impact reduction targets annually and measure and report on achieving these

• Ensure information and resources are provided to achieve our environmental targets including training and educating boxxers about environmental issues that may affect their work

• Provide all boxxers with an understanding of this environmental policy, and their responsibilities in controlling and improving environmental performance. Continue to promote environmental awareness among our boxxers and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner and to protect the environment.

• Ensure that all applicable persons are kept up to date with any changes in legislation that may have an impact on their work activities and actions in respect to the environment.

• Embed our work from anywhere in the UK policy to continue to reduction in the number of emissions created from commuting by introducing a virtual stewardship policy to continue to encourage the use of virtual technology to reduce the use of train/car/aeroplane travel and the emissions they create.

• Promote the involvement of employees by consultation in the setting and publication of environmental objectives, education, improving the working environment and by seeking individual commitment and contributions to such initiatives.

• Promote the use of suppliers and contractors, who are managing and improving their environmental performance

• Reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency, including the consumption of energy from sustainable sources where applicable and promote efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facilities including water, electricity, raw materials and other resources.

• Minimise the generation of waste and ensure all reasonable steps are taken so waste is recycled or disposed of in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.  We encourage waste reduction in line with the Waste Hierarchy of prevention through re-use, recycling and by purchasing recycled, recyclable, or re-furbished products and materials where these alternatives are available, economical and suitable.

• Reduce and/or limit the production of pollutants to water, land and air.

• Purchase and use environmentally responsible products.

• Where required by legislation or where significant health, safety or environmental hazards exist, develop and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response programmes

• Strive to continually improve our environmental performance and the EMS to minimise the social impact and damage of activities by regularly reviewing our environmental policy considering our current and planned future activities.

Consideration of environmental concerns and impacts shall be incorporated into our daily decision making and activities. Every boxxer is responsible and empowered to reduce our impact on the environment.

This policy is communicated to employees, suppliers and sub-contractors and is made available to the public.
