Sustainability
Better standards. Better business.
To us, sustainability means focused improvement and raising working standards across the industry. Your tech can play a major part in making it happen. From increased ethical and environmental awareness to improved accountability, compliance, and wellbeing, boxxe workplaces are continuously optimised meaning more opportunities to cultivate a responsible workplace are available for every business.
27%
"Among respondents to Deloitte’s ConsumerSignals survey, 27% said they will consider a potential employer’s position on sustainability before accepting a job. This data indicates that at least one in four job seekers investigates what potential employers are doing—or not doing—to address environmental impacts, and may be willing to make decisions accordingly."
There’s no business like good business
Truth be told, we could all be a little more green with our business thinking. Whether that’s better management of how we consume resources, tweaking system software and applications to be more energy efficient, or moving to digital transactions to save paper waste.
When your business is better equipped, it’s more capable of sustainable practices. Not only can you promote a better standard of business, you improve productivity, efficiency, and it gives a welcome boost of wellbeing to your people.
Part of boxxe’s commitment to Making Tech Human is using our knowledge of sustainable working practices to inform the best workplace solutions for our customers. When we do this, we can ensure both yours and our business is a force for personal, collective, and environmental good.
Hardware Asset Management and Deployment
To make sure we’re leading by example in the push for sustainable practice everywhere, we manage your procurement, deliver the devices you need ready to go, and recycle your old machines.
Our aim is to integrate sustainability into everything we do with you do to create a stronger, more successful business.

A snapshot of our own sustainable gains
We work with our partners, suppliers, and vendors to deliver and support a sustainable supply chain and support our clients by delivering sustainable products and solutions.
We maintain an accredited ISO 14001 Environmental Management system covering the entire scope of our business.
By encouraging the use of virtual tech and promoting our ‘work from anywhere in the UK’ policy, we help to reduce the emissions created from commuting/business travel.
We use an Environmental Agency registered waste carrier who recycles 95% of waste, and the remaining 5% that cannot be recycled is taken to state-of-the-art Energy Recovery treatment facilities where the items are converted into energy to power thousands of households.
We’re buzzing over the fact that in 2022, 65% of all electricity used by boxxe was procured from renewable sources - a total of 1,345MWh. We aim to be NetZero across our entire business by 2050 at the latest, from supply chain to products.

boxxe tips for workplace sustainability

Go digital
Go digital to reduce paper waste as much as possible and when you have to use paper, provide recycling, encourage its use, and raise awareness about how to do it right.

Work from home
Make working from home a stress-free (and commute-free) experience by giving your team the flexibility to manage their own schedule using integrated software like Microsoft 365.

Reduce energy
Program your workplace with power-saving features and educate your team in methods they can employ to keep energy expenditure down by doing the simple things like shutting down their machines at the end of each day.
Case Study
The Turing Trust

Challenge
The Turing Trust charity supports education in sub-Saharan Africa by reusing computers and improving teacher training through ICT. They provide skills development in the UK, while reducing waste and contributing to an environmentally friendly society.
The Turing Trust provides the following services for free:
- Accredited data destruction to the British HMG InfoSec and ISO Standards
- Social impact as they reuse PCs in schools
- Environmental impact as their activities offset carbon emissions.
Approach
Easy to manage asset disposal.
Reusing PCs, rather than recycling, moves them up the waste hierarchy, offsetting the CO2 emissions associated with prematurely recycling functional ICT equipment.
Managing asset disposal is a bit of a headache for most organisations, but not for boxxe’s client Thirteen Group, who have partnered with The Turing Trust. Thirteen’s redundant ICT equipment is collected and certificates of data destruction are provided.
Outcome
Thirteen’s 54 PCs allows the Turing Trust to supply three schools with PCs in Malawi. This means that an additional 1,154 Malawian students can learn vital IT skills. As a result of this partnership, Thirteen were able to reduce their disposal costs whilst making an environmental and social impact, so far they have:
- Made a saving of 80% on their previous recycling costs
- Contributed to the charity’s total 4,200 reused PCs, which has
- Enabled the digital education of another 41,000 students
