Generative AI is taking the tech world by storm. Here’s what you need to know...

We’re all about making tech human at boxxe, so over the past year, our experts have gone to some amazing events to:

  • Find out what’s going on in the tech world

  • Get the inside scoop from our world-leading tech partners

  • Uncover what you need to know now, to ensure your business thrives in the future.

GenAI is the name of the digital game

We visited Microsoft Envision to find out more about Microsoft’s Co-Pilot, attended Dell Technologies Unstructured Data Solutions (UDS) conference, the Canalys Forum 2023, VMware Explore 2023, and once again delivered an epic day to remember at the boxxe Pulse flagship event.  Although there’s so many exciting hardware, software and tech solutions from our vendors to look forward to, there’s one topic that stole the spotlight: GenAI.

It’s a type of AI which uses deep-learning models to generate brand new output in the form of text, photos, videos, audio and other types of media.  The whole thing is driven by data, which is used to make new predictions and inform the creation of these novel outputs.

Here’s what you need to know: although adoption of GenAI is still in its infancy, McKinsey reports that 55% of respondents have already adopted AI, with two thirds expecting to increase their investment over the next 3 years. Combine that with the hyper-growth of data we’re currently experiencing, and GenAI is set to play a large role in the future success of enterprises – across many sectors.

Data is fuelling output...

Insightful data is the difference between accelerating profits or staying small. And in a world where there’s never been so much data at our fingertips, there’s no excuse for the latter.  You get out what you put in!

Data is in hypergrowth, which means GenAI is only going to get more and more sophisticated – as the experts mentioned though, we just don’t know the extent to which it could transform business.  But one thing is for sure; GenAI has a potential use case in every sector.

What's on offer?

There are some incredible GenAI products on the market – take Microsoft’s Copilot which is set to ‘reinvent productivity’, embedding itself in 365 apps as your trusty copilot – helping you to ‘unleash creativity, unlock productivity, and uplevel skills’.

Or go over to the backend, where Dell Technologies has a portfolio of unique Unstructured Data Solutions on offer to simplify the design, build and deployment of AI infrastructure.  Their UDS offerings facilitate adoption of GenAI by giving you a secure, easy to access platform to store that all-important fuel (data).

What about VMWare's reference architecture for building private AI solutions? It gives you full control of the security and infrastructure you deploy for your AI powered apps, whilst still leveraging the leading Large Language Models.

Incredible examples, but it should go without saying that there’s so much more to come from our huge selection of vendors.

Psst:  Interested in Microsoft’s Copilot tech? Contact our experts to get a Readiness Assessment or set up a 365 Copilot workshop.

Survive and thrive

As with any novel technologies, adopting GenAI should come with a fair warning about concerns over cybersecurity, privacy and accuracy.  Dell Technologies Generative AI Pulse Survey reports that security concerns, technical complexity, and data governance are the core drivers holding businesses back from fully embracing this innovative tech.

That’s where we come in. A huge part of our offering at boxxe is all about making tech human; we work with stakeholders to deliver the solutions that work best for you.  Whether that’s implementing the latest advancements or enhancing existing tech, everything we deliver is underpinned by world-leading security and data management.

We work hard to keep abreast of the latest tech advancements and the potential problems they pose.  As with the other events we attended, our very own Pulse event was a great way to do just that, bringing leading tech vendors and decision makers together from the likes of VMware, Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Cisco, Lenovo and Fortinet to talk about working smarter, not harder and doing more with less.

What's next?

We’ll continue to keep our ears to the ground for any new developments in GenAI – the good, the bad and the ugly – to see how it could support your business to not only survive, but thrive in an ever-changing digital environment.
